Osankarica: battlefield and museum of the Pohorje Battalion
The battlefield of the Pohorje battalion is located at "Trije žreblji" (30 minute walk along footpaths from the lodge Dom Osankarica or one hour easy hiking from Trije Kralji), where the main local and municipal memorial from the time of NOV can be seen. It was on this spot that the entire Pohorje battalion were killed on the 8th January 1943.
In the extension of Dom Osankarica is the museum, where you can look at an exhibition entitled Partisan Pohorje, a model of the world with museum exhibits, a model of the last battlefield and a documentary film projection.
There is a wonderful footpath leading from Osankarica to Črno jezero.
Partizan Hospital “Jesen”
This partisan hospital is a complex of four small houses, which during the Second World War served the partisans as a place to get medical help for those wounded in fights on Pohorje and its surroundings. The hospital has retained its original form and equipment; the only change made is that the houses have been given concrete floors for the purpose of easier maintenance. All the instruments the doctor and two medical nurses used in their work are also preserved here. There are also some remains of parts of weapons that were removed from partisans. The hospital is well worth visiting!
From Treh kralji the hospital is a distance of just two kilometres or a good thirty-minute walk.
