The Christian Adventist church is a protestant religious community. Its roots go back to the great religious awakening that took hold of Europe and northern America in the 19th century and even to the 16th century during the period of Reformation and still further back to the time of the first Christian church. The belief of the Adventist church is founded exclusively on the teachings of the Holy Bible.
The church is present in 203 countries all over the world and it has more than 14 million baptized adult worshippers. The church is active in the educational field (5605 educational establishments ranging from primary schools to universities) and in the health field (720 health centres) and it carries out numerous activities that are beneficial for society.
Since 1908 the Church has been present in the Republic of Slovenia. Today it has 500 members, who gather in 14 prayer houses.
