Granite cycling route (0:7)

From Slovenska Bistrica into the forests of Pohorje and back!                               

From the Slovenska Bistrica Castle you cycle towards Oplotnica, which is a distance of 13 kilometres away. Passing through the nice square centre by the Oplotniščica turn slightly upward in the direction towards Cezlak – the long ascent is compensated by a wonderful view. The surrounding places are known for woodcraft and stonecutting.

When you reach the mountain hostel in Osankarica, you can continue the route on foot to the lake Črno jezero. Following the cycle trail continue your way towards the church the Magi. Next follows a downhill run past the villages of Tinje and Jurišna vas, where nearby you can visit the famous Ančnikovo site dating from the Celtic times. The trailcontinues to the valley, towards Visole, where you can already catch sight of nice and well cared for vineyards. Then you only have 5 more kilometres of easy cycling to reach Slovenska Bistrica.
