Hunting Association of Slovenia In the green surroundings of Maribor we also offer the pleasures of hunting! In our district it is possible to hunt for chamois, red deer, roe deer, wild boar, mouflon, wild hares, pheasants and wild ducks. You can choose from three categories of quality hunting grounds: High-mountain hunting grounds (above 1500 m) that extend mainly along the far SE part of the Koroške Alps with the hunting area on the mountain chain of Peča and the mountain Olševa, where the main hunt is for chamois and mouflon.  The whole green belt of Pohorje belongs to the mountainous hunting grounds where game reign – chamois, roe deer, red deer and wild boar. The third type of hunting ground is represented by the lower mountain hunting ground (400-500 m), which covers the hunting region of the Drava plain and part of the hills Slovenske gorice. Here the main bag is field game - roe deer, wild ducks, rabbits and pheasants.
