The Football Stadium Ljudski vrt as a natural, cultural, architectural and sports sight is the pride of Maribor. It is a trademark and holds an important place in the city's identity.
The Stadium was built in the year 1962, its greatest changes were carried out in 1994 when reflectors were installed so that matches could be played at night, and wooden benches were replaced with plastic chairs; in 1999 when FC Maribor at a home match in Ljudski vrt was placed in the Champion League the capacity of the stadium was increased, reception rooms were constructed, such as club premises, new cloakrooms and club rooms under the spectators stand.
