29th November 1973 the police got a new police station at Vošnjakovi ulica. 1 in Maribor, where the Police Station Maribor 1 is housed. Because since the police station’s opening already thirty years have passed in the year 2002 a memorial room was organised in which the work of the police unit is presented.
What does the memorial room uncover?
The memorial room is divided into three rooms, in the first room is presented in pictures the Slovenia’s war of independence and activities of the Maribor police in 1991. The second room is intended to present thirty years work of the Police Station Maribor I. Here there is an interesting piece of information – that in the year 1974 this police station was the second largest police station in former Yugoslavia. In the third room is presented equipment of a room in which police on duty carried out their work.
In the memorial room is also a collection of over two hundred police caps from all continents of the world.
