Rural holiday in Svečina

Visit us in Svečina at the now traditional event Rural holiday, which we organise in the last weekend of the month of September, and enjoy the rich program that covers everything from musical and folklore performances to workshops and exhibitions, and there is certainly no shortage of food or drink.

• Brass band procession at the opening of the event in the morning hours;
• Presentation of local and foreign folklore groups;
• Educational and entertaining: sketches about peasant jobs;
• Dance to the music of well-known Slovene ensembles;
• Exhibitions and workshops – are you interested in an exhibition of handwork made by farmer’s wives or perhaps the work of a blacksmith?
• Handicraft workshop for children;
• Presentation by wine growers from Upper Slovenske gorice wine road – try homemade wine and special delights prepared at home, such as tasty cold meat plates, a special cottage cheese cake called gibanice;
• every other year we also choose a wine queen.  

Open-air entertainment until late in the evening is assured!
