The town hills, which surround the northern part of the city core, offer wonderful views of Maribor, the surface of the river Drava, which wends it way through the town, and its surroundings – you can see all the way to the green slopes of Pohorje. The hills are adorned with vineyards, forests and attractive small chapels at the top, to where the people of Maribor like to go for their afternoon recreation.
