Are you looking for an idea for a family trip? This roaming expedition around Pohorje, in the cool shade of green Pohorje forests, accompanied by spectacular views, follows a forest learning path, passes the adorable little church and continues to the place that children find the most exciting – the outlook tower. Of course, the trip would not be perfect without the traditional Pohorje pick-me-up snack.
The Pohorje cable railway that offers a fantastic view of Maribor, the Drava valley, Kozjak and winegrowing hills that extends as far as Austria will take us to Bellevue, where our Pohorje adventure begins. The first part of the route covers the Rozka’s forest learning path, which will teach us about special features and the people of the Pohorje forest. We will have a look at the exterior of the Church of St. Bolfenk, and then we will roam about the northern slopes to reach the outlook tower Razglednik. Next we will enjoy a nice walk to the tourist inn Gostišče-Dom Jelka, where we will take a new dose of energy on the terrace with a view of the Drava valley and the traditional “pohorski pisker” dish. After this invigorating snack we will head back towards Bellevue and there take another ride with the cable railway on our way back to the valley.
